Default Learning End Game

I have been around guild wars since NF came out, but has always been too casual to get into end-game content. Now that HoM is out, I want to get at least get those titles down, what's the best way for me to approach this?

All the locations I visited, ToA/DoA/etc has groups asking for people with experience w/specialized builds that I have no knowledge of. After looking at PvX and some Youtube, they still seems perplexing to me and have significant learning curve.

What's the best way for a late comer like me to gain entry and experience into those areas?

Either get friends to help you out, wait for it to be a ZB and get a full run. Join a guild that does high end content and doesn't require special builds. you can also add me to your friends list and should we have space available in our party I can ask you to come along. IGN: Neith Bow Mistress.

Go /Rt, whatever you are, capture Destructive was Glaive, go to DoA again, join a group, mash your head against your keyboard and just faceroll... You should be fine...

Ok, no, serious now, if you want to do any elite (*COUGH*) area without any experience, DoA is the place to be with DwG, you don't need any skill what so ever, just run in, drop your stuff and wait till everything dies eventually... And, it's some cash.. Lol, bad cash, but some cash.. you get like 1 armbrace every 5 runs or so? I dunno, not home in the DwG world..

I'm sorry if this is kind of a long post, but I too am having a problem breaking into elite areas.

I've tried to prepare myself. I became a legendary skill hunter, read every relevant team build in PvX, and bought the skills I was missing. I read up on the missions on the official wiki, and I still have had only limeted success.

When Kanaxai came up for ZB, I joined up with a group and (after some intial confusion and difficulty) we rolled right on through, in HM, first try. I thought "I'll do DOA next."

Yesterday when the ZB was in the DOA, I showed up and tried to find a full run party. Now, I know there's no room for an ele in a frostway team, so DWG seemed to be my only choice. After half an hour of searching for a group that would accept an ele, I got a group, but I somehow ended up as leader. I informed them that I had never stepped foot into DOA before, and suggested that someone else should lead. Half the group quit on the spot, and I still wound up as leader.

Now for more direct questions:

A: Is there some custom where everyone pays the guy with the cons 1k? Nobody informed me of this before we left, and I had to pay in lockpicks.

B: Am I not understanding how the DWG team build works? From reading the little bit of advice PvX gave me, I understood it like this:

1. Paragon pulls and tanks while everyone else Glaives up. Ranger and SoS lay down spirits.
2. When the monsters are balled up, someone hits em' with spirit rift.
3. "By Ural's Hammer!" then everyone rushes in and spams AOE until everything is dead.
4. Wash, rinse, repeat.

Maybe I should try FOW instead...

Let me see if I can put this easily...the op had the right idea.....find the area u want to play search wiki/youtube/pvx(ya I know)...that will give ya a base to go on. The biggie here is going on runs.....Either find ppl that are willing to help you on intial runs or load one of those *cough* pvx builds and fake it!.....Are you exp?....yes.......Have you done a lot of runs? yes....Just follow along (don't be the intiator if u dont't know what you're doing).....In areas like FoW, DoA, and UW do NOT take any quests unless u know (via references) the are supposed to as part of your role.

To answer the ? about cons...yes, if it is a PuG (pick up group) and one person is supplying cons (usually the person forming the group) u are expected to drop 1k for cons.

Ofc the best way is to find ppl that'll help u ig...

Use your Friendlist!

And about Dwg: NO tactics (ok only take quests if other do too), just run in and dwg spam; no pull no nothing and it still works
